Professor Shen Nan is a Distinguished Professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an Honorary Distinguished Professor at the Australian National University. Currently, he serves as the director of the Shanghai Clinical Medical Center for Autoimmune Diseases, the director of the Shanghai Rheumatology Institute, and the co-executive director of the China-Australia Centre For Personalised Immunology. He is a 973 Chief Scientist, a recipient of the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars, a leading talent of the "National Ten Thousand Talents Program" and the "Million Talents Program", and a leading talent of Shanghai. Professor Shen serves as an editorial board member and associate editor of several important international academic journals, including associate editor of Arthritis and Rheumatology, associate editor of Arthritis Research & Therapy, editorial board member of Annals of Rheumatic Diseases, member of Faculty of 1000 Prime, and associate editor of the authoritative textbook DUBOIS on lupus erythematosus. He has long been engaged in the research on the pathogenesis, molecular diagnosis, and targeted therapy of autoimmune diseases represented by lupus erythematosus (SLE).
