He is the Vice President of Renji Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the academic leader of Cardiology, a specially-appointed professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, the winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the leader of the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, the leading talent of middle-aged and young scientists of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program, an outstanding talent of the New Century of the Ministry of Education, an outstanding academic leader of Shanghai, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), and a Council Member of the Asia Pacific Heart Association. Leading the team to meet the major needs of cardiovascular disease prevention and control, he is committed to clinical and translational research on cardiovascular diseases, and has carried out a series of original works ranging from cardiovascular risk factors to prognostic evaluation and intervention of cardiovascular events. The series of research results have been published in international important journals such as Circulation, Eur Heart J, JACC, and written into international textbooks of cardiology and other industry norms. As the principal investigator, he has undertaken many funds including the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Key R&D Program for Chronic Diseases, and the Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
